Ferro Silicon used coke quartz(or silica)as raw material is made by electric furnace, because silicon and oxygen are easily compound into SiO2, the Ferro Silicon is often used as deoxidizer in steeling. It also can be used as a suspended phase in the mineral processing industry and coating for welding electrodes in the electrode manufacturing. According to the content of Silicon, this product can be divided into FeSi with the Si content: 75%、72%、70%、65%、60%、45%.

Application:

Ferro Silicon is an indispensable deoxidizer in steeling industry. In steelmaking, Ferro Silicon is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusing deoxidation. Brick iron is also used as an alloying in steel-making.
Used as inoculant and nodulizer in cast iron industry,FeSi75 is an important inoculant and nodularizing agent in the production of ductile iron.
Used as reducatant in Ferroalloy production. Not only is there a larg chemical affinity between Silicon and oxyen, but Ferro Silicon is low in carbon. Therefore , high Silicon Ferro Silicon (or siliceous alloy) is a kind of reductant commonly used in the production of low carbon Ferroally in Ferroally industry.
FeSi75 is commonly used in the high temperature smelting of metallic magnesium in the pidgeon process, when magnesium is consumed MgO is replaced, about magnesium production.
Others used. Ground of atomized Ferro Silicon powder can be used as suspension phase in mineral processing industry.
In the welding rod manufacturing industry can be used as Ferro Silicon can be used in the manufacture of Silicon and other products in the chemical industry.
